Cartoonist & zigger in world of zaggers & perfectionist & believer in answering the tough questions & a clothes junkie & type-A personality & impatient & rock-'n'-roll memorabilia collector.
As Executive Vice President/Chief Creative Officer @ a&g I’m responsible for the thinking and creativity of all the work we produce for our clients.
Some people like to call me “The Chief Idea Officer.”
For close to 20 years I ran one of Boston’s highly awarded creative incubators, Greenberg Seronick O’Leary & Partners.
Started in 1983 with $4000 borrowed from a credit union, (my father-in-law refused to lend me the money) I became the city’s youngest creative director at age 27.
At GSOP we worked on many of the region’s largest and most visible accounts: Dunkin’ Donuts, Hasbro, LoJack, Spalding Worldwide and Shaw’s Supermarkets.
As far as awards go, I’ve won a few over the years–never counted.
My most prized is my 2nd place Cub Scout Pinewood Derby trophy, won back in 1964.
I still have it prominently displayed in my office.
I’ve been married for coming up on 30 years to the same woman.
No doubt my greatest accomplishment.
I have 2 beautiful teenage daughters who are the loves of my life.
I’m a music fanatic. Rock, Alternative, Punk, Jazz, Blues...doesn’t matter. I listen 12-14 hours a day.
Seriously.
Several years ago I began building a museum quality rock ‘n roll memorabilia collection after collecting antique toys for over 20 years.
I consider myself part curator, detective, and historian.
Check out my blog, http:/www.garyrocks.wordpress.com, where I write about music and collecting, two of my own passions.
