Allen & Gerritsen Unveils Creative Work Celebrating 20 Years of Hot Stove Cool Music

02.10.20

Campaign honoring two decades of music, baseball and giving back created for annual concert series on behalf of the Foundation To Be Named Later

BOSTON AND PHILADELPHIA, February 10, 2020 – As creative partner of the Foundation To Be Named Later (FTBNL), Allen & Gerritsen (A&G) unveiled a body of creative work celebrating music, baseball and giving back at the 20th annual Hot Stove Cool Music concert on Saturday, February 8, at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. More than 1,200 people attended this year’s events, which featured globally acclaimed musicians and Major League Baseball (MLB) legends and raised more than $320,000 for the FTBNL.

Since day 1 of Hot Stove Cool Music (HSCM) in 2000, A&G has designed creative work for the Hot Stove Cool Music concert series, which is organized twice annually to celebrate sports and raise funds for the FTBNL. In this milestone year, A&G created 20 individual art pieces as a compilation of memorable moments and performances since the concert’s inception. Each piece features a former Hot Stove Cool Music performer and uses both typography and fonts traditionally used by MLB teams. The campaign is comprised of print, digital, out-of-home and social executions.

“Hot Stove Cool Music is more than just a benefit concert; it is the embodiment of the Foundation’s mission and celebration of the beneficiaries of our programs,” said Allyce Najimy, CEO of the Foundation To Be Named Later. “It is clear that a great deal of thought and care went into creating each piece of artwork in this year’s campaign. We are so grateful for the support of A&G in making Hot Stove Cool Music the special event that it is. A&G is not only a beloved partner but literally put us on the map by creating the FTBNL and HSCM logos.”

This year’s Hot Stove Cool Music concert featured musical performances by Letters to Cleo; Tanya Donelly and Gail Greenwood and Belly; as well as MLB greats; Theo Epstein, Peter Gammons, Sam Kennedy, Kevin Youkilis, Bernie Williams, Lenny DiNardo with Emcees Mike O’Malley and Tom Caron. A surprise performance by Zumix, West End House Boys and Girls Club and Girls Rock Boston Campaign – a group of children from the Foundation’s beneficiaries – was dedicated to Peter Gammons, an award-winning sports journalist and namesake of the FTBNL’s scholarship program. With support from A&G, this song will be recorded, produced and released on a Hot Stove Cool Music EP that features the campaign pieces as album artwork.

“We’ve had the privilege of creating some truly outstanding pieces of creative work for Hot Stove Cool Music concerts over the years, and this one is no exception,” said Andrew Graff, CEO of A&G. “Because of our deep appreciation for the Foundation, and for the important work that it does, we challenged ourselves to bring the spirit of Hot Stove Cool Music to life in more ways than one. We value our relationship with the Foundation and look forward to 20 more years of great music, baseball and giving back.”
