On Tuesday, November 4th, Mashable hosted the second annual Mashies honoring the best in digital marketing, advertising and social media. And the evening kicked off with a big W for A&G when Laser Ham, a signature Brand Newsroom initiative developed in partnership with client Dietz & Watson, was awarded a Mashie for Best Real-Time Marketing.

The prize honors "the best branded digital response to current events and news stories as they're happening" and what could be more real-time than lasering a comedian's face onto a ham less than 24 hours after he hypothetically asked the Twitterverse if it were possible? Laser Ham bested fierce competitors including Nike, Taco Bell, Game of Thrones and Listerine for the win, demonstrating that nimble, creative thinking - and an adventurous client - can accomplish remarkable things.
